Front doors are a fundamental part of any property and therefore, need to have a number of features to make certain they’re suitable. Hardwood doors are one option and actually very popular among homeowners for several reasons.
For a front door, you will need fantastic security, weather resistance, durability and most importantly, fantastic aesthetic appeal. And that’s precisely what a hardwood front door will give you. They look fantastic and you may even select from a range of colours and incredible designs to create a unique appeal for your household.
Regardless of your house, you could think about a Victorian, Edwardian modern or even country front door design. Then the colour could range from a traditional white or black, to the much more bold red, green and blue.
Hardwood doors are preferred over the less expensive uPVC option because they’re considerably more sturdy and look excellent. They could cost you slightly more, but the expense is worthwhile when you consider the fantastic benefits.

Broxbourne is a commuter town within the Broxbourne borough of Hertfordshire in the East of England which has a population of around 13,298 as recorded in 2001. Broxbourne is twinned with Sutera, in Sicily. The word Broxbourne is thought to derive from the Old English words brocc and burna which means Badger stream. The Manor of Broxbourne is mentioned in the Domesday Book, which mentions Broxbourne Mill. The area was mined for its gravel and sand during twentieth century, that finally stopped when the raw materials ran out at the end of the 1960s leaving behind lots of water filled lakes. Several of the lakes became a part of the Lee Valley Regional Park. While urbanised by industrial and commercial manufacturing, the whole area preserves its rural character and is preferred by those commuting to London. The New River which passes by way of the centre of the town, was dug in the early 17th century. Broxbourne railway station was established in 1840. A terracotta works was opened soon after by James Pulham and Son, who specialised in making artificial rock garden features; some of their work is still within the gardens at Sandringham House and Buckingham Palace. There are 600 companies in the borough, with warehousing and distribution sectors being very well represented. The employers with over 250 workers include: Fitzpatrick PLC in Hoddesdon (civil engineers); J Sainsbury, also in Hoddesdon; Marks & Spencer; Turnford Retailers and Merck Sharp & Dohme in Hoddesdon related to pharmaceutical research. The national headquarters of Tesco are at Delamere Road, Cheshunt. The Borough of Broxbourne at Park Plaza Waltham Cross is also home to the biggest printing plant in the world, which creates publications for News International including The Sun, The Times and The Sun on Sunday.
