Front doors are a fundamental part of any property and thus, need to have a variety of qualities to make sure they’re suited. Hardwood doors are one option and in fact quite popular among property owners for a number of reasons.
For a front door, you need fantastic security, weather resistance, durability and above all, fantastic aesthetic appeal. And that’s just what a hardwood front door offers you. They look fantastic and you can even choose from a variety of colours and amazing styles to create a unique appeal for your household.
Regardless of your property, you could look at a Victorian, Edwardian modern or even country front door design. Then the colour could vary from a traditional black or white, to bolder red, green and blue.
Hardwood doors are preferred over the more affordable uPVC option simply because they’re much more resistant and look superb. They may set you back slightly more, but the expense is worthwhile when you consider the great benefits.

Berkhamsted is a medium-sized historic market town on the western fringe of the English county of Hertfordshire. Situated in the compact Bulbourne Valley in the Chiltern Hills, it has transformed into a commuter town, being 26 miles to the northwest of London. As noted in population documents from 2013, the town has a permanent resident population of around 18,000, occupying around 7363 properties. There are plenty of properties in residential locations, with 77% of household areas being houses or bungalows and 23 percent being flats or maisonettes. Settlements have been in Berkhamsted for more than five hundred years, supported by archaeological evidence of flint working in the Neolithic period and metal working during the late Iron Age and Roman periods. Whilst farming, service and light industry were ordinary occupations in the area in 1986, the biggest employers in the town in 2015 were educational institutions and retail. The majority of the companies are based inside the famed Berkhamsted West ward. In 2014, the Academy of Urbanism’s Urbanism Awards referred to the appeal of Berkhamsted’s High Street as ‘vibrant’ and ‘bustling’, developing a ‘pleasant’ and ‘successful’ shopping location. You can find a large collection of shops and food retailers available to inhabitants and tourists, boasting a combination of independent and commercial chain outlets, cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and public houses. For social events, the Rex Cinema presents numerous recent movies for the citizens of Berkhamsted to watch. Being built in the art deco style of architecture in 1937, the Daily Telegraph has ranked the Rex as the UK’s most beautiful cinema, and it was named Britain’s Best Cinema in the first Guardian film awards in 2014.
