Floor tiling is an extremely well-liked material for properties within the UK, so do a comparison of quotes from companies in Aldgate with our free online service.
No matter which room you’re decorating or redesigning, the floor will play a vital part in the finished appearance. Naturally, the material used must tie in with the rest of the room’s features.
Around the house you’ll most likely use carpeting a lot. It’s easily the favourite material for comfort and style and suitable in lots of of our main areas such as the bedroom and lounge. Not surprisingly, this wouldn’t be ideal within the bathroom or kitchen though.
And that is where tiling will come in. For these two areas of the house it’s better to have something hardwearing and durable, whilst being water resistant too. Floor tiling matches all of these specifications and it’s available in several styles and designs as well.
By using our fast online service we can supply you with around 4 free quotes from floor tiling companies in Aldgate. You’ll receive a free home visit, so your floor area can be measured and a variety of designs offered to you.

Aldgate is a district inside the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and partly the City of London. It was the eastern-most gateway by means of the London Wall leading from the City of London to Whitechapel and also the East End of London. It gave its name to a City ward bounded by White Kennet Street in the north and Crutched Friars in the south.
The district’s name was 1st recorded in 1052 as ‘East gate’, but became Alegate by 1108. In the 16th century, John Stow derived the name from ‘Old Gate’. But Henry Harben, writing in 1918, said that this was incorrect and that documents show an alternative variation written prior to 1486-7. Other meanings include ‘Ale Gate’, in association with an ale-house or ‘All Gate’, which means the gate was free to everyone.
It is thought that a gate at Aldgate spanned the road to Colchester during the Roman period, when London Wall was built. The gateway stood in the corner of the modern Duke’s palace on the east side of the city. It was rebuilt between 1108 and 1147, and once again in 1215. It was reconstructed totally between 1607 and 1609 in a more classical style. As the other London gates, Aldgate was chained in 1377 on account of concerns about attacks from the French. The gate was finally removed in 1761 and temporarily re-erected in Bethnal Green.
