Fishguard is a coastal town in Pembrokeshire, Wales, with a population of 3,419 in 2011; the neighborhood of Fishguard and Goodwick had a population of 5,407. Modern Fishguard includes 2 parts, Lower Fishguard and the “Main Town”. Fishguard and also Goodwick are twin communities with a joint Town Council. Lower Fishguard is believed to be the site of the original district from which modern Fishguard has grown. It remains in a deep valley where the River Gwaun fulfills the sea, hence the Welsh name for Fishguard. It is a common angling village with a short tidal quay. The negotiation stretches along the north slope of the valley. The primary town includes the parish church, the High Street and a lot of the modern growth, and exists upon the hill to the south of Lower Fishguard, to which it is joined by a high and also winding roadway. The part of the community that encounters Goodwick expanded in the initial decade of the 20th century with the advancement of Fishguard Harbour.
