Belgravia is a district in West London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Belgravia’s Grosvenor Estate is still owned by a family property firm, namely the Duke of Westminster’s Grosvenor Group. However, the estate has been made to sell a great deal of its freeholds to its tenants, as a consequence of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
The majority of Belgravia was once owned by Richard Grosvenor, 2nd Marquess of Westminster, who created it in the course of the 1820s and onwards. Thomas Cubitt primarily worked on the project.
