Aberystwyth is an old market town and popular holiday resort in Ceredigion, West Wales. Locals often call it Aber, and it is situated by the confluence of the rivers Ystwyth and Rheidol.

There are also the remnants of a Celtic fortress on a hill overlooking Aberystwyth, meaning the site had settlers prior to 700AD.
