It has become more and more pricey to move home. Take into account each of the payments and expenses for relocating. There are the estate agents, solicitors and then stamp duty, that may very easily amount to thousands of pounds.
As a result, improving the home instead has become a lot more popularly in the UK. Why throw away money on moving when you could increase the value of your own property. And extensions have turned out to be one of the best ways to do just this.
You could think about making use of some wasted space at home such as the loft or basement and focus on a conversion. But extensions are a more attractive alternative for many reasons. Sunrooms are similar to conservatories, with a lot of natural light flooding into the extension as a result of big glass panes.

Berkhamsted is a medium-sized historic market town on the western border of the English county of Hertfordshire. Located in the small Bulbourne Valley in the Chiltern Hills, it serves predominantly as a commuter town, being 26 miles northwest of London. As noted in population records from 2013, the town has a population of approximately 18,100, living in about 7363 homes. There are a number of properties in residential areas, with 77% of household areas being houses or bungalows and 23 percent being flats or maisonettes. Settlements have been established in Berkhamsted for over 500 years, as discovered by archaeological evidence of flint working throughout the Neolithic period and metal working during the late Iron Age and Roman periods. Whilst farming, service and light industry were common occupations in the area in 1986, the biggest employers of the town in 2015 were educational institutions and retail. Most of the corporations in the area are located in the nationally famous Berkhamsted West ward. In 2014, the Academy of Urbanism’s Urbanism Awards referred to the character of Berkhamsted’s High Street as ‘vibrant’ and ‘bustling’, making a ‘pleasant’ and ‘successful’ shopping environment. There’s a broad selection of retailers and food retailers available to residents and tourists, being the location a mix of independent and commercial chain stores, cafes, coffee shops, places to eat and public houses. For social events, the Rex Cinema offers a number of new movies for the citizens of Berkhamsted to view. Being built in the art deco style in 1937, the Daily Telegraph has called the Rex as the UK’s most beautiful cinema, and it was declared Britain’s Best Cinema in the first Guardian film awards in 2014.
