Arundel is a market community and also civil parish in a steep vale of the South Downs, West Sussex, England. The much-conserved town has a medieval castle and also Roman Catholic cathedral. Although smaller in population than many other churches, Arundel has a museum and comes second behind a lot bigger Chichester in its number of listed structures in West Sussex. The River Arun runs through the eastern side of the town. Arundel was one of the boroughs changed by the Municipal Reform Act 1835. From 1836 to 1889 the community had its very own District police with a toughness of three. In 1974 it became part of the Arun district, as well as is now a civil church with a town council. An electoral ward of the exact same name exists. This ward extends north to Houghton with a complete population at the 2011 census of 4,298.
