Edenbridge is a community and civil parish in the Sevenoaks area of Kent, England. Its name originates from Old English Eadhelmsbrigge (significance “Eadhelm’s Bridge”). It is located on the Kent/ Surrey approach the upper floodplain of the River Medway and also offers its name to the latter’s tributary, the River Eden. The community has a population of around 9,000. Edenbridge is twinned with Mont-Saint-Aignan in France. The bypass that was constructed in the very early 2000s to eliminate traffic stress on the old, narrow High Street is called Mont St Aignan Way.
