Edenbridge is a community as well as civil parish in the Sevenoaks district of Kent, England. Its name originates from Old English Eadhelmsbrigge (significance “Eadhelm’s Bridge”). It is located on the Kent/ Surrey border on the upper floodplain of the River Medway and provides its name to the latter’s tributary, the River Eden. The town has a population of around 9,000. Edenbridge is twinned with Mont-Saint-Aignan in France. The bypass that was integrated in the early 2000s to eliminate traffic stress on the old, slim High Street is called Mont St Aignan Way. There are 2 banks in the town, a post office alongside the church and a variety of significant retail chains.
