Are you considering getting fencing installed in Chard? Using the Local Pros service you’ll be able to contrast up to four fence companies in order to get the top deal available for the work you need. Fencing is important for all households whether it be the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, working with a reputable company is highly advised to get the very best price available. Fences act as a perimeter to our properties and with an installation you’ll add more security to your house and stop easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are traditionally close to six feet high, which straight away will make it tougher for intruders to gain entry. Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing are often suitable for the front garden, where security isn’t as important. Instead, you’re more likely to opt for a front garden fence specifically for design and also to add something different. For whatever type of fencing you’re looking to have installed, be sure to make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Chard.

Chard is a town and a civil parish in the English county of Somerset. It lies on the A30 road close to the Devon border, 15 miles (24 km) south west of Yeovil. The parish includes a population of approximately 13000 and, at an elevation of 121 metres (397 ft), Chard is the southernmost and highest town in Somerset. Administratively Chard forms part of the district of South Somerset. The name of the town was Cerden in 1065 and Cerdre in the Domesday Book of 1086. Right after the Norman Conquest, Chard was held by the Bishop of Wells. The town’s 1st charter was from King John in 1234. Chard is most famously referred to as the birthplace of powered flight, as in 1848, John Stringfellow first indicated that engine-powered flight was attainable. Percy and Ernist Petter, who formed Westland Aircraft Works, witnessed a number of Stringfellow’s demonstrations in Chard and often asked for assistance in the formation of Westland’s very first aircraft development factory on the outskirts of Yeovil. Agusta Westland now holds the Henson and Stringfellow lecture yearly for the RAeS. Chard Reservoir, around a mile north east of the town, is a Local Nature Reserve, and Snowdon Hill Quarry a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. Major employers in the town include Numatic International Limited and the Oscar Mayer food processing plant. You can find a range of sporting and cultural facilities, with secondary education being provided at Holyrood Academy. Religious sites include the Church of St Mary the Virgin which dates back to the late 11th century. For all of your property upgrades, be certain that you use trustworthy specialists in Chard to ensure you get the top quality.
