Belvedere is a town of south east London, England in the London Borough of Bexley. It is situated south east of Thamesmead and is located approximately 12 miles (19 kilometres) southeast of Charing Cross. Belvedere was in Kent, and in terms of the postal system, remains so. It formed part of the Municipal Borough of Erith ahead of 1965 and improvement occurred prior to the Second World War, with considerable reconstruction following the Blitz. Despite this, Upper Belvedere and the Village still features a significant amount of its Victorian and Edwardian appeal and character.
