Camelford is a community and civil parish in north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, positioned in the River Camel valley northwest of Bodmin Moor. The community is approximately ten miles (16 kilometres) north of Bodmin and also is regulated by Camelford Town Council. [3] Lanteglos-by-Camelford is the ecclesiastical parish in which the community is situated (not to be puzzled with Lanteglos-by-Fowey). The ward population at the 2011 Census was 4,001. The Community population at the same census was 865 only. Camelford remains in the North Cornwall parliamentary constituency represented by Scott Mann MP considering that 2015. Till 1974, the town was the management head office of Camelford Rural District. Both main industrial business in the location are the slate quarry at Delabole and also the cheese manufacturing facility at Davidstow and there is a small industrial estate at Highfield. The A39 road (dubbed ‘Atlantic Freeway’) goes through the community centre: a bypass has been reviewed for several years. Camelford Station, some range from the town, closed in 1966; the website was consequently utilized as a cycling gallery.
