Ibstock is a town as well as civil parish about 2.5 miles (4 kilometres) south of Coalville in North West Leicestershire, England. The population of the civil parish was 5,760 at the 2001 census enhancing to 6,201 at the 2011 census. The town is on the A447 road In between Coalville and Hinckley. The toponym Ibstock could be a by-product of Ibestoche implying the farmstead or community of Ibba, which is an Old English personal name additionally discovered in various other toponyms.
