Forest Row is a town and also fairly huge civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England. The town is located 3 miles (5 km) south-east of East Grinstead. An electoral ward in the exact same name exists. The population of this ward taken at the 2011 Census was 5,278. The village attracts its name from its distance to the Ashdown Forest, a royal hunting park initial confined in the 13th century. From its origins as a small hamlet, Forest Row has grown, first with the establishment of a turnpike road in the 18th century; and also later with the opening of the train between East Grinstead as well as Tunbridge Wells in 1866; the line, which included an intermediate station at Forest Row, closed in 1967 as a result of the programme of closures put forward by East Grinstead homeowner as well as British Railways Board Chairman Richard Beeching.
