Clackmannan is a town and civil parish embeded in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. Positioned within the Forth Valley, Clackmannan is 1.8 miles (2.9 kilometres) south-east of Alloa and 3.2 miles (5.1 kilometres) south of Tillicoultry. The community is within the county of Clackmannanshire, of which it was formerly the county town, until Alloa surpassed it in size and also significance. The war memorial was developed by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1919.
