Garve is a town on the Black Water river, in Ross-shire, and also remains in the Highland Council location of Scotland. It is located 5 miles (8 kilometres) northwest of Contin, on the A835, the main road to Ullapool on the west shore, close to where the A832 branches off in the direction of Achnasheen. The town is offered by the Garve railway station, on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which goes across the A835 road on a degree crossing. In 1890 Garve was recommended as the starting-point of a railway to Ullapool. The village has a primary school as well as resort but no store. The village is within the Garve and District Community Council location. Garve as well as District are served by the Garve and District Development Company, a company developed by the area throughout 2017.
