On the lookout for wood garage doors in London/England? Our skilled wooden garage door fitters in London/England will provide you with the very best quotes for getting wood garage doors fitted.
Garages house a number of expensive items and require equally as much security as our households. For that reason, it’s crucial to have a garage door which will offer you strength and durability. Additionally; but a touch of class will certainly change its look.
Garages aren’t simply used to house our vehicles anymore and quite often property owners make use of them as a gym, a den for children or even as extra storage space for boxes, tools and other house items.
And many older designs are damp, with ageing doors and unsightly looks. Particularly if your garage is attached to the house, it’s something you should really think about replacing.

Aldgate is a district in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and partly the City of London. It was the eastern-most gateway via the London Wall leading from the City of London to Whitechapel and the East End of London. It gave its name to a City ward bounded by White Kennet Street within the north and Crutched Friars towards the south.
The district’s name was 1st recorded in 1052 as ‘East gate’, but became Alegate by 1108. In the sixteenth century, John Stow derived the name from ‘Old Gate’. But Henry Harben, writing in 1918, stated that this was incorrect and that documents show another variation written before 1486-7. Other meanings include ‘Ale Gate’, in connection with an ale-house or ‘All Gate’, which means the gate was free to all.
It’s believed that a gate at Aldgate spanned the road to Colchester in the Roman period, when London Wall was built. The gateway stood at the corner of the modern day Duke’s palace on the east side of the city. It was rebuilt between 1108 and 1147, and once more in 1215. It was reconstructed completely between 1607 and 1609 in a more classical style. Like the other London gates, Aldgate was chained in 1377 as a consequence of concerns about attacks from the French. The gate was eventually removed in 1761 and temporarily re-erected in Bethnal Green.
