Bedlington is a town in South East Northumberland, England. Previously a mining town, it’s about 20 miles north of Newcastle upon Tyne and 4.5 miles southeast of the county town of Morpeth, in addition to being near to locations including Ashington, Blyth and Cramlington. The town is recognised most famously for giving its name to the Bedlington Terrier, a variety of dog. As recorded in the 2011 Census, the town boasts a population of about 18,500.
