Ambleside is a community in Cumbria, in North West England. Historically in Westmorland, it is located ahead of Windermere, England’s largest all-natural lake. The town is within the Lake District National Forest. Ambleside is administered by South Lakeland District Council as well as types part of the Lakes civil church yet from 1894 to 1935 it was a different city district council. Ferries (still known as “cleaners”, although currently diesel powered) run to Bowness-on-Windermere and also Shore supplying great sights of the lake and bordering hills.
