Front doors are an important part of any household and as such, require a variety of attributes to make sure they’re suited. Hardwood doors are one option and really extremely popular amongst homeowners for many reasons.
For a front door, you need excellent security, weather resistance, durability and most importantly, amazing aesthetic appeal. And that’s just what a hardwood front door offers you. They look fantastic and you may even select from a selection of colours and incredible designs to create a unique appeal for your home.
Regardless of your property, you could consider a Victorian, Edwardian modern or even country front door style. Then the colour could range from a traditional white or black, to the much more bold red, green and blue.
Hardwood doors are preferred over the less expensive uPVC option due to the fact they’re considerably more sturdy and look superb. They may set you back a little more, however the extra expense is worthwhile when you consider the superb benefits.

Alexandria is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The town is situated on the River Leven, 4 miles (6 kilometres) north-west of Dumbarton. In 2001, the population of the town was 13,444. It’s the largest town in the Vale of Leven. Alexandria developed as a consequence of the textile industry. In 1715, the first bleachfields in the area were established at Dalquhurn, attracting seasonal labour from Argyll. As trade between Scotland and the United States of America grew, cotton was increasingly imported and processed in and around Glasgow. Soon, textile work inside the Vale grew from just bleaching fabric to dying and printing it also. The town’s conventional industries, most significantly cotton manufacturing, bleaching and printing, have been phased out. The town was redeveloped during the 1970s with a brand new town centre layout and traffic system. Local landmarks include Christie Park along with the fountain in the town centre. Alexandria is located on the former A82 main road between Glasgow and Loch Lomond. There are frequent bus services on the route and the town has a railway station on the rail line in between Balloch and Glasgow Queen Street. The town is reputed to be the only UK town with a railway station and a pub in the middle of a roundabout. The writer A. J. Cronin’s uncle owned a pub in Bridge Street. Alexandria Library is positioned on Gilmour Street. The town is home to the Vale of Leven football club, who play at Millburn Park. The club were a dominant force in early Scottish football history, winning the Scottish Cup in 1877, 1878 and 1879, and were founder members of the Scottish Football League.
