Birchington-on-Sea is a village within north east Kent, England. It is a part of the Thanet district and part of the civil parish of Birchington. It is positioned on the coast facing the North Sea, east of the Thames Estuary, between the seaside resorts of Herne Bay and Margate. As per the 2011 census, the village had around 10,000 residents and around 4,944 households. As a seaside resort, the village has an economy based around tourism, with a number of hotels, caravan parks and leisure attractions.
